A grieving widower in Farncombe is on a mission to create a special tribute to his late wife. Steve Farmer, who lost his beloved Laura to E. coli, plans to transform a derelict golf course into a community cycle and skate park in her memory. The golf course, located at Broadwater Park, was once a bustling hub but closed in December 2018. Farmer, a father to Harry, found solace in the park during his early days of grief. He made a promise to himself to give back to the community that had become a source of comfort. Laura, a passionate advocate for outdoor activities, would be thrilled to see her husband's vision come to life. To make this dream a reality, Farmer needs to raise funds to purchase the land from the Waverley Borough Council (WBC). He envisions a self-funded project, engaging the local community and seeking grants to bring the park to fruition. With his determination and the support of those around him, Farmer aims to create a space that will not only honor Laura's memory but also provide an outlet for children to enjoy the outdoors.
